Paul A. Schofield

Attorney at Law

Paul Schofield has focused his practice on helping people in their greatest times of need. Whether someone is in need of bankruptcy and debt relief, an attorney to take on the IRS, or a guiding hand to help with the probate process after the death of a loved one, Paul takes great pride in listening to what his clients need, and ensuring that they get personalized assistance.

Paul was first introduced to bankruptcy in his first summer in law school when he was selected to be a judicial intern to the Honorable Lorraine M. Weil. This led him to pursue a career in bankruptcy, obtaining a clerkship with the Honorable John S. Dalis, the United States Bankruptcy Judge for the Brunswick and Waycross Divisions of the Southern District of Georgia. Following that clerkship, Paul went into private practice and has helped hundreds of clients get relief from their debts through bankruptcy. Paul also serves as a chapter 7 panel trustee in the Brunswick and Waycross Divisions of the Southern District of Georgia.

Paul also saw a need to help those struggling with tax debts, and facing the daunting challenge of facing down the IRS alone. He saw that all too often people just want to throw their hands up rather than try and navigate the world of complicated tax law. Paul has helped clients resolve disputes and settle tax debts with the IRS and Georgia Department of Revenue. Too often, clients come to Paul after having wasted valuable time and money hiring a nationwide firm with slick radio ads about settling for “cents on the dollar,” only to find that firm devoted little effort towards resolving their issue. Paul firmly believes in taking the time to meet with clients to discuss their tax issues so that he can achieve for them the best possible result.
